In 2017, she composed an essay for The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and took on the stage name Bea to pay tribute. Bea was fostered by her sister Sinead with Helen Moloney. Helen is a secondary instructor, trainer of jockeys, and a former professional racer. Her family were racing and horse-related. Bea had a job as a tour guide in the Irish National Stud. From a very young age, Bea knew that she did not want to pursue racing as a career. Instead, she was drawn to the performing arts.
