Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress popular for her work in film productions such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already been offered a variety of television roles such as the lead role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. After her critically acclaimed role in the show Der Tunnel, Alexandra went further to take on other memorable roles such as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudljunge as well as the secretary of Adolf Hitler in Downfall. The film was nominated for an Oscar and won critical acclaim. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are other Oscar nominated features featuring women. Through the years, Alexandra has been involved in a variety of important international and national productions. The British biographical film Control, the Greek film The Dust of Time, and the French historical mini-series Napoleon are among these. Furthermore, she was an active member of the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
